A fresh Start

In late 2009 I was approached by Shawn and Nicole from Hypnotic Zoo. At the time, there website didn’t match the quality of there photography portfolio and blog.  After a new design and a lot of WordPress tinkering, there website not only looks great, but  it accentuates the colors in photos and creates a strong and clean theme that matches the Agency’s personality.

The Challenge

Blinq did have a previous website. It was a slightly tweaked ‘out of the box’ bought theme that just didn’t match the quality of there business. The new website theme needed to scream sports but still look like a clean photography portfolio. It also had to work with a software called Pixaria: This was being used for selling stock photography. And on top of that, the website needed an inviting blog to drive traffic.

The Result

A lot of hard work went into complex HTML and PHP to make this website easy. I created a visually stunning home page featuring full screen portfolio images and a jQuery rollover navigation bar with a content preview.  The content pages featured images and icons to ease the eye and the Blog was transformed into a clean and modular information resource.

The main focus of this website was ease of use, not just for the users but for the admins too. The portfolio is dynamically created by a custom script searching for portfolio images, the content is always quickly editable and just about every bit of text comes from WordPress and not from a static theme file.

Working with Pixaria was interesting. It is a new technology that is still evolving and I was happy to help the growth of the product by creating a well rounded theme for it. The Pixaria sub website is consistent with the main website and works just fine.

This website uses some really innovative and new technology. Some cool things to look out for are blog integration via the home page rollover navigation, floating calendars on the blog page, and a dynamic portfolio.
